Oppure le passioni che accelerano il ritmo del cuore, o invece i sensi di colpa che mi accompagnano, la paura della morte, ferite che la vita non mi ha risparmiato che possono arrivare ad arrestare il battito cardiaco tanto il dolore lo comprime. Eppure da tutte queste 'patologie' può passare la nostra guarigione, può passare il Signore che le lenisce con il balsamo della sua Presenza. E infine che battito ha il cuore di Dio? Solo attingendo al Suo cuore inizia la guarigione che a volte può durare anni ma che porta al riconoscimento non solo della nostra malattia, ma ci dona la terapia che consiste in un cammino di libertà, di purificazione della memoria,

Nella sofferenza si diventa unici, così come nella morte: nessuno può morire al nostro posto. Non siamo sostituibili; possiamo essere sostituiti nell'amore, nel lavoro, nell'adempienza di un compito, ma nella morte nessuno ci sostituisce. La morte e la sofferenza sono unici per ciascuno di noi. Allora l'esperienza del dolore è solo un'esperienza di separazione e un'esperienza individuale? Il libro di Giobbe ci dice di no. Pur essendo unici nel soffrire, l'esperienza del dolore può diventare un'esperienza di comunione, di relazione.
