Schaeffer Francis A. Title : Morte nella città
Author: Schaeffer Francis A.
Publisher: Alfa & Omega

Schaeffer Francis A.; Giuliani R. (cur.) Title : Il Dio che esiste veramente
Author: Schaeffer Francis A.; Giuliani R. (cur.)
Publisher: Passaggio

Schaeffer Francis A., Moreland J. P. (FRW) Title : Escape from Reason
Author: Schaeffer Francis A., Moreland J. P. (FRW)
Publisher: Ivp Books

Truth used to be based on reason. No more. What we feel is now the truest source of reality. Despite our obsession with the emotive and the experiential, we still face anxiety, despair, and purposelessness. How did we get here? And where do we find a remedy? In this modern classic, Francis A. Schaeffer traces trends in twentieth-century thought and unpacks how key ideas have shaped our society. Wide-ranging in his analysis, Schaeffer examines philosophy, science, art and popular culture to identify dualism, fragmentation and the decline of reason.Schaeffer's work takes on a newfound relevance today in his prescient anticipation of the contemporary postmodern ethos. His critique demonstrates Christianity's promise for a new century, one in as much need as ever of purpose and hope.

Schaeffer Francis A., Sire James W. Title : The Mark of the Christian
Author: Schaeffer Francis A., Sire James W.
Publisher: Ivp Books

'It is possible to be a Christian without showing the mark, but if we expect non-Christians to know that we are Christians, we must show the mark.'Christians have not always presented an inviting picture to the world. Too often we have failed to show the beauty of authentic Christian love. And the world has disregarded Christianity as a result. In our era of global violence and sectarian intolerance, the church needs to hear anew the challenge of this book. Decades ago Francis Schaeffer exhorted, 'Love--and the unity it attests to--is the mark Christ gave Christians to wear before the world. Only with this mark may the world know that Christians are indeed Christians and that Jesus was sent by the Father.' More than ever, the church needs to respond compassionately to a needy world. More than ever, we need to show the Mark.

Schaeffer Francis A., Card Michael (FRW) Title : Art And the Bible
Author: Schaeffer Francis A., Card Michael (FRW)
Publisher: Ivp Books

'The lordship of Christ should include an interest in the arts,' writes Francis Schaeffer. 'A Christian should use these arts to the glory of God, not just as tracts, mind you, but as things of beauty to the praise of God.'Many Christians, wary of creating graven images, have steered clear of artistic creativity. But the Bible offers a robust affirmation of the arts. The human impulse to create reflects our being created in the image of a creator God.Art and the Bible has been a foundational work for generations of Christians in the arts. In this book's classic essays, Francis Schaeffer first examines the scriptural record of the use of various art forms, and then establishes a Christian perspective on art. With clarity and vigor, Schaeffer explains why 'the Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars.'

Schaeffer Francis A., Dennis Lane T. (FRW) Title : How Should We Then Live?
Author: Schaeffer Francis A., Dennis Lane T. (FRW)
Publisher: Crossway Books

As one of the foremost evangelical thinkers of the twentieth century, Francis Schaeffer long pondered the fate of declining Western culture. In this brilliant book he analyzed the reasons for modern society’s state of affairs and presented the only viable alternative: living by the Christian ethic, acceptance of God’s revelation, and total affirmation of the Bible’s morals, values, and meaning.

How Should We Then Live? has become the benchmark for Christian worldview thinking today. This edition commemorates the 50th anniversary of L’Abri Fellowship, founded by Francis and Edith Schaeffer.

“This is a modern-day classic, one of Schaeffer’s books that awakened me to how biblical truth affects all of life.”
Charles Colson, founder, Prison Fellowship Ministries

“There are books that quickly go out of print and there are books for the ages. How Should We Then Live? is one for the ages. Any serious thinker must read it again and again.”
Cal Thomas, Fox News contributor, syndicated columnist

How Should We Then Live? was produced by a genius who cared about the battle of ideas. It’s also the book I still recommend to students for a quick overview of ‘the rise and decline of western thought and culture.’ Schaeffer brilliantly takes readers from ancient times through the Renaissance, Reformation, and Enlightenment, then discusses the breakdown in philosophy and science and moves on to art, music, literature, film, and much else besides.”
Marvin Olasky, editor-in-chief, World magazine

“Go to any evangelical Christian gathering… and ask twenty people the simple question: ‘What single person has most affected your thinking and your worldview?’ If Francis Schaeffer doesn’t lead the list of answers, and probably by a significant margin, I’d ask for a recount.”
Joel Belz, founder and CEO, God’s World Publications

Schaeffer Francis A. Title : A Christian Manifesto
Author: Schaeffer Francis A.
Publisher: Crossway Books

In this explosive book, Francis Schaeffer shows why morality and freedom have crumbled in our society. He calls for a massive movement—in government, law, and all of life—to reestablish our Judeo-Christian foundation and turn the tide of moral decadence and loss of freedom.

A Christian Manifesto is literally a call for Christians to change the course of history—by returning to biblical Truth and by allowing Christ to be Lord in all of life.

“Schaeffer was right. Today, we need leaders who can show us how to operate… in a way that does not neglect or enshrine politics. We need to discern which behaviors by Christians are helpful… and which are not.”
Marvin Olasky, editor-in-chief, World magazine

“When I went to L’Abri many years ago as an agnostic, it was the first time I encountered Christians who engaged with the cultural and intellectual world. A leader distinguished by his integrity and authenticity, Francis Schaeffer shows how the richness of biblical truth illuminates the course of history as well as our individual lives.”
Nancy Pearcey, author, Total Truth

“I can think of no one who has had more impact on evangelical theology and social policy in the last three decades than Francis Schaeffer. Dr. Schaeffer had enormous influence on a whole generation of baby-boomer evangelicals, calling us to engagement with society and inspiring us to be the salt and light that Jesus commanded. The culmination of Schaeffer’s call for the church to be the church were How Should We Then Live? and A Christian Manifesto. We all owe Dr. Schaeffer an incalculable debt.”
Dr. Richard Land, president, the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission

Schaeffer Francis A., Dennis Lane T. (FRW), Middelmann Udo W. (INT) Title : Death in the City
Author: Schaeffer Francis A., Dennis Lane T. (FRW), Middelmann Udo W. (INT)
Publisher: Good News Pub

Few Christians had greater impact during the last half of the twentieth century than Dr. Francis A. Schaeffer. A man with penetrating insight into post-Christian, post-modern life, Schaeffer also cared deeply about people and their search for truth, meaning, and beauty. If there is one central theme throughout Schaeffer's work, it is that "true truth" is revealed in the Bible by "the God who is there," and that what we do with this truth has decisive consequences in every area of life.

Death in the City was Schaeffer's third book and is foundational to his thinking. Written against the backdrop of the sixties countercultural upheaval, it reads today with the same ring of truth regarding personal, moral, spiritual, and intellectual concerns. Especially in light of 9/11, Schaeffer seems disturbingly prophetic. The death that Schaeffer writes about is more than just physical death--it is the moral and spiritual death that subtly suffocates truth and meaning and beauty out of the city and the wider culture.

What is the answer that Schaeffer offers in response? It is commitment to God's Word as truth--a costly practice in the midst of the intellectual, moral, and philosophical battles of our day. It is compassion for a world that is lost and dying without the Gospel. It is yielding our lives to God and allowing Him to bring forth His fruit through us.

Few have demonstrated this commitment to truth and "persistence of compassion" so consistently as Schaeffer did. And because of this, few who begin reading these pages will come to the end without having their life profoundly changed.

Schaeffer Francis A. Title : 25 Basic Bible Studies
Author: Schaeffer Francis A.
Publisher: Crossway Books

¡Existen buenas nuevas hoy!

Be Sure of Your Salvation

No one can grow spiritually who lacks the assurance of his salvation. Feeling that you're a Christian or hoping that you're destined for Heaven will never give peace of mind that you're right with God. The Bible teaches that the person who has received Jesus Christ as Savior should know that he has:

Assurance of salvation. "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" (John 1:12).

Forgiveness of Sin. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

Certainty of eternal life. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life" (1 John 5:13).

Follow God's Guidebook

The Bible is a living book written by a loving God. In it He provides basic principles, guidance and inspiration for living.

Set aside a time to read the Bible each day. Start with reading at least one chapter from the Gospel of John at a sitting. Then read Acts and Romans before returning to the other Gospels. Ask God to help you understand and obey what He teaches you.

As you read, ask yourself these questions:

  • What are the main truths in this chapter?
  • What do I learn about God the Father, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit?
  • Is there an example for me to follow? A sin to avoid? A promise to claim?

Then talk to God in prayer about what you have discovered. Praise Him for what you learn about Him. Confess sin revealed in your life. Bring Him your needs and the needs of others. Thank Him for His promises.

Grow with Other Christians

As a member of God's family, fellowship in a local church is important for your spiritual growth. Ask God to lead you to a church where you can learn from the Bible and share in worship and prayer and service.

When considering a suitable church, look for one which teaches that the Bible is God's Word, our final authority, and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died and rose again for our salvation.

Make Christ Lord of Your Life
  1. Turn from sin. Jesus Christ is your new Master. He has freed you from slavery to your sin nature. You will still be tempted to sin, but now you have the supernatural power to resist it. Daily discover more of His power by asking God to cleanse you from sin and empower you with His Spirit. Victory over sinful thoughts and habits will not come automatically. Walk by faith and obedience, and you will learn how to please Him.
  2. Pray often. Prayer is your lifeline to God. Talk with God throughout the day. Take all your problems to Him. He is interested in everything you do. Don't let sin discourage and defeat you. If you sin, be quick to confess and claim Christ's blood-bought forgiveness.
  3. Share your faith. Share Christ with others. A vital Christian life is contagious.
  4. Serve Christ wholeheartedly. Look for opportunities to serve Him in your church and daily life. He can turn even the most ordinary tasks into ways to glorify Him.
