Reworking the Bench
Book (italiano):
Research notes represent a special genre of scientific writing according to Holmes (Yale U. School of Medicine, US), Renn (Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Germany), and Rheinberger (also of the Max Planck Institute). They present 15 case studies (drawn from the eponymous November 1998 symposium) in which science historians use research notes to explore the nature of scientific investigation. The papers look at notebooks from such individuals as Galileo, Isaac Newton, Ernst Mach, Ivan Pavlov, Albert Einstein, and others. Annotation (c) Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
