Ferri's Netter Advisor Desk Display Charts
Book (italiano):
This 8.5x11" wire-ring-bound resource for patient education collects high quality, color anatomical and other illustrations that doctors can use in the office for patient education. The book is bound with a sturdy cardboard base for standing on a flat surface so that doctor and patient can view materials together and easily flip from one page to the next, and a laminated surface allows writing on the chart with dry erase markers (not included). The illustrations are grouped in sections on body systems, cancer, and endocrine/metabolic, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, musculoskeletal, genitourinary, eye, and neurological disorders. The 15 charts in the body systems section are labeled in detail. The 35 charts in the other sections, covering common illnesses, injuries, and health maintenance, include textual information explaining causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment in plain language that patients can understand. These charts feature not only anatomical illustrations, but also realistic drawings of patients of diverse races and ages, and occasionally diagnostic images. Each chart also includes telephone numbers and web sites of organizations with more information. The book is packed inside a box cover. Ferri teaches in the Department of Community Health at Alpert Medical School, Brown University. Annotation ©2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
