His works have been translated into more than forty languages and have received many prestigious prizes including the Médicis Prize and the Europäeischer Staatspreis. His most celebrated titles include <I>Pereira Declares</I>, <I>Little Misunderstandings of No Importance</I>, <I>Requiem: A Hallucination</I>, and <I>Indian Nocturne</I>.
