I-400
Book (italiano):
Weighing 5,223 tons and featuring state-of-the-art radar and stealth technology, the I-400 was the largest submarine ever at the time it was built by the Japanese during WWII. The Japanese planned to use the I-400 to attack American cities and destroy the Panama Canal. This account of the I-400's role in the war draws on first-hand accounts from former officers and crew of the I-400, and from three of the original Japanese air crew assigned to fly the Seiran attack floatplanes that accompanied the submarine. The book also draws on accounts of American naval personnel who crewed the I-400 on its final voyage. The book is illustrated with hundreds of b&w and color photos and illustrations, including historical photos, technical plans, and internal and external views of the I-400 and its associated aircraft, armament, and equipment. Appendices provide crew rosters and technical notes on equipment. Information on the author is not given. The book is distributed in the US by Specialty Press.
