The Monuments of Seti I
Book (italiano):
Toronto-based Egyptologist Brand has been involved with the Karnak Hypostyle Hall Project since 1994, and here details the reign of one of ancient Egypt's most outstanding rulers, best known for his impressive building program. He considers Seti's restoration program, the length of his reign, the royal succession, and the establishment of the Ramesside house. In addition, he includes detailed catalogues of his original monuments and his restorations of and additions to those of his predecessors, including extended treatments of Karnak Hypostyle Hall and Abydos and Gurnah temples; and new epigraphic and art historical criteria that elucidate the chronology and the state of the program at his death, and distinguish his reliefs from those of Ramesses I and II. Eight floor plans and 148 monochrome plates support the text. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
