On the State
Book (italiano):
This volume presents 23 lectures on the state by French sociologist and anthropologist Bourdieu (1930-2002) arranged by the dates he delivered them during the course of three academic years. It commences the publication of the lectures in all of his courses at Collége de France, because the lectures make up an essential but rarely seen piece in the construction of his sociology. Among the topics are the concentration of symbolic resources, theoretical foundations for an analysis of state power, the "house" model against historical finalism, and a program for a social history of political ideas and the state.
