Building Blocks For Teaching Preschoolers With Special Needs
Book (italiano):
Updating their material to reflect current practice and providing more worksheets, printable forms and exercises, the authors (both education, U. of Washington) and their collaborators provide a complete set of tools to those new to the inclusion of students with disabilities in early childhood classrooms. Most of the exercises and lessons even include those with sensory disabilities, a very helpful feature, and the authors take a systemic approach in their methods as well as in their efforts to expose teachers to evidence-based practice methods. Strategies are child-focused and largely professionally collaborative, and the authors include interesting material on children's friendships as social relationships and their development of classroom behaviors. They include a concise list of additional resources and references. Teachers may find the systemic approach eases the transition to an inclusive classroom and provides learning opportunities applicable to all students.
