The Torture Memos
Book (italiano):
The legal affairs correspondent for The Nation magazine, Cole (law, Georgetown U.) presents all of the main memoranda drafted by the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel concerning the interrogation program then being conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency under the George W. Bush administration. They have been edited only to remove unnecessary repetition, though some sections remain classified and are blacked out. They routinely twist language and meaning in order to justify torturing prisoners accused of terrorism. A final document produced in April 2009 after a new administration came into office, describes the context of the others, and of their release to the public. There is no index.
