Urban Teaching in America
Book (italiano):
Stairs (literacy, language, and culture, U. of Southern Maine) et al. present an overview of urban teaching in the US for undergraduate and graduate students new to the urban context to help them understand its challenges and opportunities. Each chapter incorporates the experiences of urban teachers; contains a vignette, theories, research, and teaching strategies; and addresses a specific question: building on student resources and attributes, creating positive learning environments, using culturally responsive pedagogy, supporting English language learners, taking an inquiry stance on teaching, teaching to standards without standardizing the curriculum, working within and around school bureaucracy, and promoting social justice and equity.
