Secure payments
Aiming to furnish a solution to all problems connected with security of Credit Card payments we've adopted the Payment Gateway system of Sella Bank.
Strong points
Buyer's security and trust: credit card data is furnished directly to the safe server of Sella Bank encrypted in SSL and are not memorised on UNILIBRO.
No one besides Sella Bank knows the credit card data.
For the buyer, it's like arranging a payment directly to a bank.
Extremely easy payment method: no need for authentication certificate or to download Java applet or plug-in on his PC for UNILIBRO's client, but can simply use a standard browser.
User friendly payment methods permit a notable advantage even for those less skilled clients (or foreign residents) who will be able to make purchases without problems.
Tested payment system: Payment Gateway, regarding verification of the credit card and response from international circuits, utilises the same system used by POS, amply tested to guarantee service continuity according to market standards.
Operations
The operations scheme involves four parts:
Buyer
UNILIBRO
Sella Bank
International authorised circuits Visa/Mastercard.
The system functions in the following manner:
- 1. The buyer visits UNILIBRO and decides to buy one or more product, adds it to his shopping cart and pays with his credit card.
The buyer completes a form that reports all information necessary for the dealer to fill the order (name, address, etc.).
When the client comes to the page that summarises the order (furnished by UNILIBRO) and presses "buy" he is redirected to the payment page residing on a safe server of Sella Bank.
- 2. The client is presented with a shopping cart that contains, the name Mailtrade (owner of UNILIBRO) and the amount of the transaction but it is up to the buyer to insert the credit card number, expiry date, user's name and e-mail.
Confidential data (name and credit card number) is inserted in secure modality (Sella Bank server is secure with 128 bit cryptography) a total guarantee for the buyer.
- 1. Sella Bank gathers the data related to the transaction (credit card data and amount) and inserts it into the international authorised circuits, the same method as for transactions made through P.O.S.
- 2. The issuing institute is reached through these international circuits, and then the positive or negative response for authorisation is communicated to Sella Bank; Sella Bank's server redirects the buyer on UNILIBRO; in this way, the buyer is presented a response page that confirms or denies the order.
- 3. In this context, Sella Bank server transmits two messages by e-mail: one to UNILIBRO and one to the buyer that summarises transaction data (store name, date and time of transaction, amount, and result).
The entire process takes just a few seconds.
There are no financial transactions in this phase: just the verification of the credit card (existence, validity, limit) and the amount of the transaction is deducted from the card limit; the cardholder is not debited and the dealer is not credited.
The financial transaction must be concluded within 25 days from the date of the order or accept cancellation of the same by Sella Bank.
It may occur that the amount of the purchase is debited to the addressee before merchandise is shipped.
The system guarantees security and privacy at the same time:
no one can intercept encrypted credit card data from browser to the server utilising SSL (secure Sockets Layer)
the managing agency of the credit card has access only to the number and value or purchase.
UNILIBRO is informed only of the characteristics of purchase and necessary data for forwarding the merchandise.
